Directional and Horizontal Drilling

directional and horizontal drilling

Solid torque and drag as well as hydraulics and swab/surge design are critical to the success and optimization of all directional and horizontal drilling projects. Proper casing point positioning, hole cleaning, formation pressure management and equipment specifications can mean the difference between smooth running operations and a constant battle with one or more “problem” hole sections. Sometimes it is the small things, like regulating pulling speed or making a slight adjustment to the directional plan, that can dramatically decrease the problems encountered. HXR’s on-site ERD Specialists are especially adept at tracking all drilling and casing parameters, and utilize ERDPro® to monitor trends that can give a “heads up” that hole conditions are not as they should be, and illuminate areas that need special attention.
